A reward is now on the table for info that leads to an arrest of the suspect or suspects in an April 20 armed robbery at Wayne’s Country Store in Hagerstown’s West End.

No one was injured during the incident. The suspect went into the store, pulled a gun and demanded cash.

The annual POW/MIA Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, May 19, at 11 a.m. at Letterkenny Chapel in Chambersburg.  The service, which will be followed by a rifle salute and the playing of taps, will feature remarks from retired U.S. Army Col. Alexander P. Shine, who is an educator at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle.


The distraction of contract negotiations is now out of the way. Green castle Antrim Educators and school board members can focus on academics. Members of the teachers union approved a contract ratified the school board last week. The new contract includes pay and benefit increases.


Crews in Chambersburg will get cracking on work to install new playground equipment on seven playgrounds in six parks in the borough.  Money to cover the cost was approved by the town council last month. The first playground to get an upgrade will be the Memorial Park main playground. Take about two weeks to finish.  Then, installers will move on to the Memorial Park “tot lot”, for about two weeks; and so on as they move from playground to playground.


President Trump asks Republican primary voters in West Virginia to cast their ballots AGAINST Republican Senate hopeful Don Blankenship. The former coal C-E-O is one of six candidates vying to represent the GOP against incumbent Democratic Senator Joe Manchin. Blankenship is facing criticism for a campaign ad that is critical of Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell and attacks McConnell’s Taiwanese-American wife.






This is National Nurses week and Nurses from around Pennsylvania gather in Harrisburg for an emergency preparedness conference. The Nurse Alliance of Pennsylvania 2018 Spring Education Conference will focus on educating nurses to value disaster preparedness and prepare them for anything.
