HAGERSTOWN - A man with a long criminal history was arrested with fentanyl and a loaded handgun during a raid Friday at his residence, 1017 Georgia Ave.

Johnny Durent Norris Jr, 39, is facing numerous charges related to drug distribution and illegal weapons.

According to state court records, Norris was charged with robbery and aggravated assault last year. Records also indicate that he’s been in court at least 17 times on various traffic violations.

Hagerstown Police utilized SWAT and a narcotics task force to make the arrest.

Norris is currently being held at Washington County Detention Center without bail.

A local woman is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing at least 25 items from a Dollar Tree store.

Iris Olivencia, 62, Shippensburg, is charged with retail theft. Police said she's facing enhanced charges based on her lengthy criminal history

Police responded to a complaint about a theft at the store located at 790 Wayne Ave on February 18.

Olivencia was arrested on Saturday and formerly arraigned in the case.

Bail was set at $25,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 3.
